WAP Application blog

Welcome to the 'WAP App' blog which I've created basically to compile the informative posts about the WAP Application Development and related terms.

However if you have arrived to the WAP Applications blog I guess you are aware of the terms WAP, WAP Applications etc. Still to help you below is blurb from wikipedia to help you understand what is WAP:

WAP Wireless Application Protocal:
Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is an open international standard. A WAP browser is a commonly used web browser for small mobile devices such as cell phones.

Before the introduction of WAP, mobile service providers had extremely limited opportunities to offer interactive data services, but needed interactivity to support Internet and Web applications such as:

  • Email by mobile phone
  • Tracking of stock-market prices
  • Sports results
  • News headlines new
  • Music downloads
WAP Applications refers to the applications which are developed for WAP or WAP as base of these applications. If you have a technical base and working on weblogic server, you might want to read this page on Oracle website:    Using WAP with WebLogic Server - Programming WAP Applications

Hope you will enjoy reading the WAP Apps blog and keep commenting to improve the blog. If you find any useful links related to WAP, mobile application development and wireless application development Please send me through comments. We will love to publish any informative article on this blog that is helpful to readers.
